41 weeks and 2 days

Didn't think I'd go over by this much! Crazy...
I started having contractions on Friday morning....every ten minutes or so they lasted 30 hours without a break, they hurt but were not excruciating... went to the hospital twice....sent home twice....acquired sleeping pills so I could sleep and then it all stopped about 8pm Saturday night. Was told by a midwife that they were Braxton Hicks contractions and that it was only pre labour. So I will be induced tomorrow (Monday) at 6pm. Real nice of them to induce at night. Anyway there will be a baby soon.

the 39th week

My (hopefully) last week of pregnancy....feeling all the normal complaints of being heavily pregnant...but this week has been particularly hard as Owen has been struck down with a cold, conjunctivitis and gastro...which means a very sooky little boy....but I guess that's life...better he be sick now than when Flynn arrives. Two friends of mine looked after Owen this week so I could get my toe nails painted and get my hair done...as I fear time for these things will be non existent for a few months..Thanks Nicky and Bec...I've actually had many of my friends offer to have Owen for me to rest, just never got around to taking them up on their kind offers....maybe I'll hit them up when I have actually had Flynn!
So I am excited about meeting the little guy, but also quite worried about things too. Especially breastfeeding, as that was a total failure last time and how will I cope with two? Last time around I was totally focused on the birthing process and didn't give too much thought on what would happen after the birth. This time I haven't really been too concerned with labour but life after labour!
I guess I am just hoping to be a bit more at ease with the newborn phase so I can enjoy that very short time in Flynn's life....I'll leave you with a few pics taken this week.... next post should be a baby arrival post!

This week

This week has been a fairly busy one for me ultrasounds, dr appointments, babysitting, social outings and many park visits. So this week I am 38 weeks and even though I am measuring small the ultrasound suggests a very healthy baby. Approx 3 kgs (give or take 500g, very approx) so Flynn will most likely be similar size to Owen.

Nicky, a lovely friend from my mothers group organised for all us mummy's to have high tea in the city for a baby shower for Emilia and I. We are both due in August...It was soooo nice to have some chat time without children and eat yummy yummy sweeties!! We even had a private room which over looked Brisbane city from the 30th floor!

We have had a big week of park play, this is Owen on his 5th straight day of going to the park....slightly over it!

37 Weeks

3 weeks to go....went to my 36 week check up last week and was told baby was measuring 4 weeks behind...so have an ultrasound this coming Tuesday. I am not worried as I carried small with Owen and always measured behind with him too. He was born 3.6kg or 8 pd so a very healthy size. Flynn is also fully engaged, so all systems go! I bet i'll be over due! Anyway here is a photo of me at 37 + 1 weeks.

I am here!

Blogging had to stop for a while as our camera had died....we now have another camera so hopefully back to regular posts.
So a few things that have happened. We have managed to get Owen to sleep in his big boy bed...it was actually very easy, no crying, no getting out of bed and no falling out of bed. We have also completed the boys rooms. Owen's is a cowboy room and Flynn's is pretty much Owen's old nursery.
